Vermont House · Rutland-8 · Pittsford & Proctor

Lower costs and stronger communities for Pittsford and Proctor.

I'm Jane Smith, a local small-business owner running for the Vermont House to bring property tax relief, real housing options, and representation that answers to our two towns.

Show up. Listen. Deliver.

Where I stand

Local first, always

Property taxes and schools

Fund schools and housing through separate, stable streams so families are not taxed out of the homes they have worked for.

Housing we can afford

Back the homes working families and young Vermonters can actually afford, built where our towns want them.

Health care that holds

Protect access and push back on the costs squeezing rural patients, providers, and our local hospital.

Roads and flood resilience

Keep our roads, culverts, and bridges ready for the next storm instead of patched up after it.

Across Vermont

Statewide priorities that shape what is possible back home.

Affordability Childcare Working lands Broadband

National, felt locally

On national issues I focus on what reaches us here — like federal health care decisions that land on Vermont hospitals and household budgets.

Why I am running

I've lived, worked, and raised my family in Rutland County, and I've watched costs climb while our two towns get talked about instead of talked with. We deserve a representative who shows up between elections, not just before them.

I'm running to be that person: present at the town meetings, honest about the tradeoffs, and accountable for results. Not slogans, just the work.
